It’s November and that means the start of the holiday season! My to-do list includes cooking and baking, packing and traveling, plus shopping and wrapping. Then there’s season-ending tournaments for the kids, a bit of fall gardening before cold weather sets in, and much more.
Take a breather before you get frazzled and enjoy a few of the bands this month in our area. As always, there’s much from which to choose.
Mark Nov. 22 on your calendar. Don’t miss Chubby Checker & The Wildcats in Newnan at The Alamo! The band takes the stage at 7:00 p.m., but advance ticket holders may enter at 6:00 p.m. Other artists performing this month are Ryan Hammer, Diane Durret, and Jeremy Aggers. Join The Blue Stone Society Nov. 13 for their CD release party.
Georgia Shrimp Company in Peachtree City entertains diners several nights per week including South Side Jazz Meet Up & Open Mic on Wednesdays. Music organizer Neal Wauchope will perform at The Legacy Theatre on Nov. 6 with an after-show party at GSC. The bash begins at 10:00 p.m. and features DJ Sean-E.
Book your holiday parties now before it’s too late! Maguire’s in downtown Senoia accommodates special groups in The Cork Room. Irish Bred Pub in West Point also invites either corporate or family parties this holiday season. Ten East Washington in Newnan caters to large groups in its adjoining special events room.
Twilight Bar & Grill in Newnan invites the younger crowd to Rap with Michael Effing Patterson, an Athens bar sell-out performer, Nov. 27. On Nov. 25, there will be a special Wednesday show featuring local favorite Tim Dugger! But wait, there’s more! As always Twilight’s stage rocks with the area’s best. Also appearing on stage this month: South Paw, Premium Tapp, Jason Foster, Kevin Lee, and Sliver Tongued Devils.
