Currently…Newnan: Purchase advance tickets for Historic Newnan’s Candlelight Tour of Homes; The Piedmont Newnan Hospital Auxiliary and the Newnan Reading Circle are gearing up for a very special holiday event, the 23rd Candlelight Tour of Homes to be held on Friday, Dec. 4, from 4 to 9 p.m. This year’s event will celebrate the Newnan Reading Circle’s 100th Anniversary, featuring the historic homes of the original members of the Newnan Reading Circle. The current members will host each home dressed in full 1909 period attire. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Auxiliary’s pledge to the new Piedmont Newnan Hospital outpatient diagnostic center and annual scholarships. Tickets are $12 in advance and can be purchased at Scott’s Bookstore (28 South Court Square in Newnan), both locations of Sprayberry’s Barbeque (229 Jackson Street in Newnan or 1060 Highway 34 East in Newnan), the Piedmont Newnan Hospital Wellness Center (26 West Court Square in Newnan), or the Piedmont Newnan Hospital Gift Shop (60 Hospital Road in Newnan). 7…Fayetteville: The 2nd Annual Fayette Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale will be on November 7th from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center (indoors!) at 936 Redwine Rd., Fayetteville. The Fayette Holiday Bazaar and Bake Sale will mark the beginning of the 2009 Holiday Season for folks in south metro Atlanta. The holiday season just wouldn't be the same without a Holiday Bazaar where handcrafted items for Thanksgiving and Christmas can be found. Homemade items for sale at the bazaar will range from handmade jewelry to knitted clothing, wooden toys, quilts, gift baskets and holiday arrangements (cornucopias, wreaths, and centerpieces).....and don't forget the delicious home-baked treats for sale.  All vendor booths were sold out all most a month before the event.  The Kiwanis Recreation Center is located just southwest of downtown Fayetteville on Redwine Road, next to the baseball fields. 7…Warm Springs: Fala Day, noon-4 p.m. - A tribute to FDR's beloved Scottie, Fala. The Little White House will host its annual Fala Day program with participants from the Greater Atlanta Scottish Terrier Association. Activities include an opening parade, costume parade, grooming exhibits and bagpipe music. All Scotty dogs welcome on a six-foot leash. 20…Warm Springs: Candlelight 1 Mile Tour Run, 9:30 p.m., 5K is at 10:00 p.m. Beginning at the Chamber of Commerce in Downtown Warm Springs. The course is a fun, rolling, race through the holiday-season lighted downtown Warm Springs. Both races begin and end at the Chamber of Commerce building at 91 Broad Street. 20, 21, 22…Warm Springs: The 26th Annual Candlelight Tour Festival in Warm Springs Village: Experience Christmas the Warm Springs way! Start your holiday season here in Warm Springs! Entertainment, candlelit streets, refreshments and more! Shops open until 10 PM on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20 and 21. (Regular hours observed Sunday thru Thursday). Tradition will continue with our “After Candlelight” festivities when shops will remain open late each weekend until Christmas. On Nov. 20 & 21 the tour will be 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and on Nov. 22 it will be noon – 6 p.m.

20-Dec 30…Pine Mountain: Make holiday memories that last a lifetime with family and friends amongst more than eight million sparkling lights and holiday sounds at the 18th annual Fantasy In Lights at Callaway Gardens November 20 through December 30, 2009. 30-Dec. 13…Palmetto: 2009 Fantasy Forest: The City of Palmetto premiers its first Fantasy Forest, a festival of decorated Christmas trees November 30-December 13 at Palmetto’s Community Center, 595 Main Street, Palmetto, GA.. Hours are Monday-Friday, 4-8 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Groups of 20 may reserve special hours Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with discounted tickets. Tickets priced at $5.50 adults, $3.50 Teens/Seniors; children, $1.50 (under 12).  Advance purchase discount is $.50 per ticket.
